A Season in Hats

The play is about a summer in which everyone changes hats and nobody changes their mind. So the hats got the budget: twenty-four of them, blocked and trimmed in the workshop, each bigger than the last. The white lace dresses underneath are deliberately quiet, so the hats can argue. The striped blazers were woven to order in three widths of stripe.
